I had always harbored a strong sense of duty and a desire to serve others. It was this innate sense of purpose that led me to join the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter in New York. For me, the camaraderie and trust shared among my fellow firefighters resonated deeply. I felt a profound sense of pride each time the team came together to overcome challenges and protect our community.
When Hurricane Sandy struck in 2012, my devotion to service was truly put to the test. As the storm wreaked havoc on the city, he and his team worked tirelessly to save lives and minimize damage. Through the most grueling hours, my commitment to the people he served never wavered. I emerged from the experience stronger, more resilient, and with an even greater appreciation for the power of unity.
Years later, my journey took an exciting new turn when I joined the FDIC in IT. The opportunity allowed me to combine his passion for service with his technological expertise. At the FDIC, I found new ways to protect and support the nation, safeguarding the financial system that millions of Americans rely on every day.
